About Jerry Spears

Jerry has spent years learning how to drive consumer behaviors with thoughtful marketing and even longer working on storytelling in every aspect of his work, from the script to the screen, the product to the brand, and in rooms with people too busy to hear an idea they might need.

He cut his teeth making the cash register ring for local businesses through broadcast spots and dots and writing and directing indie films. Now, he develops results-oriented brand-building concepts for multinational companies and works with Taylor Swift, Reese Whitherspoon, and AT&T, but he works full-time at Ruggable.

Early on in his advertising career, he worked with Magid and CMG Research, which gave him an appreciation for data-based feedback. In recent years, he has done extensive training with Google and Meta to continue his education in effective advertising in an ever-changing landscape. There are many formulas that can help set an ad up for success, but at the end of the day, it needs to be interesting.

When not working in advertising, Jerry works on film projects and goes to the movies, writes for multiple mediums, obsesses over random records, talks about podcasts, and reads a mix of history, fiction, and books about UFOs.

As a collaborator, he prides himself on being an endless well of ideas and a good listener. As a person, he is a generalist who is fascinated with everything from history and astrophysics to the place with the best burger in town.
